Representatives from several contracting companies attended the morning meeting at the Lee County Justice Center, but supervisors won’t vote to award the contract until next month. It likely will happen at the Aug. 2 meeting.
MTD, which makes outdoor power equipment, had announced earlier this year an estimated $9.3 million expansion into the former Eljer Plumbingware building that will add 107 jobs to the economy.
The supervisors’ involvement stems from their administration of roughly $1.2 million in Community Development Block Grant Program funds.
