PASCAGOULA — Gov. Haley Barbour says despite BP's efforts to cap a well in the Gulf of Mexico, there's still the threat of oil coming toward Mississippi.

Barbour says oil skimming resources will be used to collect as much as possible when it turns up near the state's shoreline.

Meanwhile, state environmental quality and marine resources agencies say the Mississippi Sound has been opened to catch-and-release recreational fishing. The opening took effect at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday. It includes live bait shrimping.

Commercial fishing remains closed.

Tiny Chataginer, chief of law enforcement for the Department of Marine Resources, says no fish can be possession in the closed areas. He says that includes transporting fish by boat.
