VICKSBURG — The 2010 Miss Mississippi Pageant preliminary competitions continue, and two winners were chosen in two categories.

In swimwear, The Clarion-Ledger reports Miss Mississippi State University Fenley Akers won a $200 scholarship Thursday night in Vicksburg.

In talent, Miss Mid South Danielle Smith won a $300 scholarship.

The wins follow the Wednesday night competitions during which four winners were selected.

The preliminaries continue Friday night. Saturday, a new Miss Mississippi will be selected from the 45 contestants and crowned at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

When are we going to have Miss White America? If there is a Miss Black America they why not a Miss White America or Spanish America. This ain't the 60's, things have changed. Ether get rid of the black america pagent or stay out of the main pagent or let there be a white america pagent. Now tell me in all fairness, what is wrong with that comment? Only a prejudiced person would have a problem with this comment. It's the truth and needs to be said.
