I must make one more statement........whoever "sandlot1959" is has no clue what a gem THS had in Mac Curlee as principal. I not only went to high school with him, but his father was my principal, later becoming superintendant. The Curlees are wonderful, upstanding, extremely intelligent people, and Mac Curlee was one of the best things that ever happened to THS. So, sandlot1959, before you make statements such as you did, you need to know exactly who you're talking about! Otherwise, you're showing YOUR 'intelligence'!

It's about time the board members made a SMART move. They must have tied Shaver's hands on this one. My understanding is that Shaver did not want Stratton to be principal, originally. If he did, he would have chosen him to be interim principal in January instead of setting Glenda Scott up to fail miserably.

Hopefully Shaver won't run Stratton off. It would seem that Shaver cannot afford many more mistakes with regard to TPSD. The community is well aware of what a mess he has created thus far. I, along with numerous others, think Shaver is a miserable excuse for heading the great school system Tupelo has!

The best choice with his vested interest in doing the best for the kids and the community.

And the best news out of the TPSD in a long while.

is so glad to see Stratton taking the position of Principal of THS. I knew him when I went to school and he was friends with one of my teachers.

Coach Stratton will excel in this position. I had him as a teacher in high school, and he was fair and was good at his job. I wish him all the best!!
