UPDATE: IHL launches websites about presidential searches

The State Institutions of Higher Learning launched websites today detailing the steps in the presidential searches for Alcorn State University (ASU), Jackson State University and the Mississippi University for Women.

The sites can be found at www.mississippi.edu/ieo/

All three institutions have presidential vacancies. Interims have been appointed to lead the universities until a permanent president is selected.

Christy Pickering of Biloxi will chair the state College Board's search committee for the next president of Mississippi University for Women.

Also on the committe, named today during the board's regular meeting, are four other trustees: Tupelo banker Aubrey Patterson, West Point Mayor Scott Ross, Dr. Bettye Neely and Robin Robinson.

The board also announced search committees for Jackson State and Alcorn State universities. C.D. Smith will chair the ASU committee, while Bob Owens will lead the JSU search.
