OXFORD – Mitchell Sivina of Doral, Fla., pleaded guilty Monday to interstate transportation of stolen cigarettes and money laundering.

He was released on a $15,000 bond pending sentencing. He faces up to 30 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

Sivina is accused of illegally bringing 1,026 cases of Marlboro cigarettes from Miami, Fla., to Peppertown,

The truckload, valued at $2 million, reportedly was stolen from a Kentucky truck stop in 2006.

Authorities accused Sivina of selling the cigarettes to Jerry Burke of Tupelo for $850,000 cash with Charles Wells, a Kentucky tobacco wholesaler.

Burke allegedly flew his private plane to Kentucky to pick up $200,000 from Wells.

Last November, Burke pleaded guilty in a multi-state blackmarket tobacco ring. Friday, Wells pleaded guilty to his part in the crimes.
