JACKSON — Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour says a nonprofit fund has been established to help people affected by Saturday's tornadoes.

Barbour said Thursday that the Mississippi Disaster Recovery Fund Inc. will accept private donations to pay for expenses not covered by government.

The fund has a website and will have a board with members from the damaged areas. The board will decide how to spend the money.

The website includes information for people who want to volunteer to work on cleanup and recovery. That is coordinated through the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service.

Ten people were killed and at least 49 were injured as the violent weather pushed through Mississippi Saturday. Two more were killed in Alabama.
