That's when MSU can go full pads. Saturday's session starts at 9:45 a.m.
"I'm ready to hear some different sounds out on the fields Saturday morning," the second-year coach said. "We had two good days of instruction, now we need to see who's going to step up and hit somebody. See who's going to make a play."
State, working mostly on the artificial turf fields, certainly felt the effects of the wind in passing and kicking drills. But Mullen's never been one to quickly retreat to the indoor Palmeiro Center across campus.
"We'll have to play in rain or snow or whatever, so we'll practice in it too," he said.
