Sean Ferguson, a rising junior for Mississippi State’s football team, was arrested Thursday for possession of marijuana.

BulldawgJunction.com first reported the defensive end’s arrest by campus police. The Web site said he was released on bond and will likely go to court in April.

“We are aware of the incident, and when all the facts are determined we will handle the situation appropriately,” a team spokesman said.

A call to the university police requesting information was referred to Dr. Thomas Bourgeois, MSU’s Dean of Students. He could not be reached for comment late Thursday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Ferguson made 25 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and a sack last season. He started four games and is expected to vie for a full-time starting role this fall.

What an outrage! marijuana is safe and effective for reducing pain and relaxing muscles. We should encourage athletes to use marijuana to relax and repair after the grueling punishment they do, for us, to their bodies.

Legalize marijuana today and stop this destruction of freedom and restriction of rights. Iits and outrage!
