The Lady Bulldogs (17-10, 8-6 SEC) share third place in the SEC with Vanderbilt and take on last-place Alabama (11-16, 3-11 SEC).
Tipoff at Alabama’s Coleman Coliseum is 6 p.m. MSU defeated Alabama 74-44 in Starkville on Feb. 4.
The Auburn loss, in which the Lady Bulldogs scored their fewest points in two years, dropped MSU’s RPI to 66.
Point guard Alexis Rack continues to lead the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 17.9 points a game.
Forward Tysheka Grimes had eight points against Auburn to give her 1,003 for her career.
Auburn at Ole Miss
- Bianca Thomas, the SEC’s leading scorer at 20.6 points a game, and other seniors will be honored in their final home game tonight at 7 at Tad Smith Coliseum.
Ole Miss (15-12, 6-8 SEC) will take on Auburn (13-14, 4-10 SEC) with hopes of improving its SEC tournament seeding.
The Rebels have lost four straight and seven of their last eight games after starting SEC play with a 5-1 mark.
The most recent loss was 68-59 at home against Vanderbilt last Sunday.
Kayla Melson tallied 17 points and five assists against the Commodores, while sophomore post Kayla Holloway scored a career-high 13 points to go along with eight rebounds in her first start of the season.
Thomas ranks 11th in the nation in scoring and is bidding to become just the third player in school history to average at least 20 points for an entire season. The Henderson, Tenn., native also stands tied for second in the league and 11th in the nation with 3.1 three-pointers per game.
