UPDATE: Commission urges state takeover of Okolona school district

JACKSON – The Mississippi Commission on School Accreditation passed a resolution today calling for the state to take over the Okolona school district because of poor student performance and financial difficulties.

The recommendation goes to the state Board of Education, which is expected to approve the resolution at its meeting Thursday.
