TUPELO – Construction on Phase II of the Renasant Center for IDEAs will begin in about two weeks after county officials approved a contract.

The Lee County Board of Supervisors on Monday awarded the construction contract for the $5.4 million project to Corinth-based CIG Contractors.

Slated to last 15 months, the project will expand the business incubator by 24,300 feet. The facility is located at the corner of Main and Elizabeth streets.

This is great for CIG of Corinth and their employees and may even create a few more jobs, and will help fill up Fairpark, and looks good from the 4-Lane when driving thru Tupelo, but I would like to ask the Journal to print more in detail as to what they do at the center. Please print all that has been done for Tupelo small businesses. I know of several that have had to close, when just a small amount help would have kept them open. This is should be what Lee county should think about when they use taxpayers' money to match grants.
