TUPELO – State Sen. Alan Nunnelee's campaign for U.S. Congress becomes official Monday with a kickoff in three North Mississippi locales.

He'll make his pitch to capture the seat occupied by Rep. Travis Childers of Booneville in DeSoto County, Tupelo and Columbus.

Nunnelee of Tupelo seeks to be the Republican nominee for a slot in the November general election.

His campaign stops will be 9 a.m., Desoto Tourism Center just off Interstate 55 at the Church Road Exit, adjacent to the DeSoto County Civic Center in Southaven, at noon, Tupelo Furniture Market Building V and 2:30 p.m., Columbus Holiday Inn.

Nunnelee is the only GOP candidate to file qualifying papers with the party so far, but at least two others have been mentioned as possible – FoxNews commentator Angela McGlowan of Oxford and Henry Ross of Eupora.

March 1 in the qualifying deadline.

Best wishes to Alan in his effort to rid the lst District of Pelosi's influence! We need to take back this seat and return North Mississippi to sound fiscal conservatism! Coakley went down, Childers is next! Victory is ours!
