LUCEDALE — George County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the drowning death of a 10-month-old in the Howell community.

Deputies said about 7 p.m. on New Year's Day, they responded to a call that 23-year-old Kimberly Dailey had found her 10-month-old daughter, Eden Dunn, in the bathtub.

Deputies tell The Sun Herald they had learned the toddler somehow got out of her crib and climbed into the tub, which still had water in it because her 3-year-old sister had just been bathed there.

Dailey and others found the child and tried to do CPR on her until first responders arrived at the home. The child was airlifted to a hospital in Mobile, where she was pronounced dead.

Deputies says their findings will be presented to a grand jury.

man this just makes me heartsick...I hope all new or prospective mothers and dads hear about this...maybe it can be avoided by others...waky things are these days though, the first thing you do is wonder if this is what really happened to the child....
