Tupelo High School is expected to name a football coach later this week, outgoing THS principal Mac Curlee said Monday.

The coach would replace Eric Collins, who resigned last month after six seasons.

“We are prepared to submit a candidate to our superintendent (Randy Shaver) for his review,” said Curlee, who along with assistant superintendent Fred Hill and THS athletics director Danny Porter, headed up the search committee. “We feel like we’ve done a good job trying to meet all the criteria.”

Well I'm not gonna be one of those people who claim to have "sources", because that always gets on my nerves lol. I'll say I'm confident that THS did receive his application and he was at the top of the list. So unless something better has come along for either party, I think the chances are good.
