New Tupelo police chief to be named soon

TUPELO - The city will learn the name of its new police chief by Dec. 15, promised Mayor Jack Reed Jr. during a City Council meeting Tuesday.

Reed said he has interviewed numerous candidates and will select one by the next council meeting in two weeks.

Current Chief Harold Chaffin will retire at the end of the month.

I sure hope that the new chief has the 'LIFE IS A PARTY' mentality of Mayor Reed and the 'be nice to your enemies and they'll be nice to you' mentality of President Obama...
