JACKSON — The Mississippi State Department of Health said Tuesday that swine flu nasal mist vaccine is now available free at county health departments for all healthy residents from 2 years to 49 years old.

The department also says injectable vaccine for the H1N1 is available for all priority groups: Pregnant women; people 6 months through 24 years old; people living with an infant less than 6 months old; health care workers and emergency medical providers; people 25 to 64 years old with medical conditions that put them at higher risk for complications from the flu.

Both the injectable vaccine and the nasal mist vaccine are free at county health departments.

The health department says 574,700 swine flu doses have been allocated for Mississippi schools, county health departments and private providers.

After reading this article, I called the Prentiss County Health Department to see if they had the flu mist available. They told me to call back tomorrow, that they should have it then.
