Nunnelee will seek the Republican nomination for the seat now held by Democrat Travis Childers of Booneville. No other Republicans have announced their candidacies for the 2010 contest.
In a written statement, Huckabee said Nunnelee "has been a strong voice for Republicans for over a decade in the Mississippi Senate. A true pro-life champion, Sen. Nunnelee agrees that every single life has value, and should be protected from the moment of conception."
