CORINTH - A Corinth veterinarian was arrested on narcotics charges Monday for the illegal acquisition of the pain killer Lortab.

Dr. Donald "Brent" Jobe, who works at the Eastbrook Animal Hospital in Corinth, was charged by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics with two counts of fraud for the acquisition of 10 milligrams of Lortab, said a statement from MBN Director Marshall Fisher.

Jobe was taken to the Alcorn County Jail, where he remained late Monday on $50,000 bond.

Assisting in a week-long investigation that led to the arrest was the Alcorn County Sheriff's Office, Fisher said.
