The accident happened at about 10 p.m. on Highway 45 near the Main Street exit. Gillentine–Green said it appeared that Bala was driving north in the south bound lane and hit Lewis head on. Several calls were made to 911 minutes before the accident about a vehicle that was traveling on the wrong side of the road.
Both victims were wearing their seat belts.
Gillentine–Green said blood work is being done to see if alcohol contributed to the accident.
