The Starkville Board of Aldermen is expected to vote today on proposed amendments to the city’s alcohol ordinance after it holds a second public hearing on the matter.

The version up for discussion today won’t include the longer hours, except on Sundays, the Columbus Commercial Dispatch reported. It would allow businesses to sell alcohol from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays — alcohol sales currently are illegal on Sundays — while hours throughout the rest of the week would remain the same.

The Board of Aldermen meeting is scheduled for today at 5:30 p.m. in Starkville City Hall.
