OXFORD – W. Roberts Wilson’s lawsuit can proceed against Richard “Dickie” Scruggs and a host of others, Senior U.S. District Judge Neal B. Biggers Jr. ordered Friday.

Wilson’s civil action seeks millions of dollars from Scruggs, some of his companies, former Hinds District Attorney Ed Peters, former state Auditor Steve Patterson, former New Albany attorney Tim Balducci, Scruggs’ son Zach and up to 10 John Does.

He claims Scruggs failed to pay him what he was due as part of team lawsuits against national asbestos companies. And then, he insists, Scruggs and the others used his money to bankroll other mega-lawsuits, which yielded millions on legal fees.
