JACKSON - Attorney General Jim Hood is part of a lawsuit filed against Gov. Haley Barbour over the governor's partial veto last month of language in an appropriations bill that provided funds for overtime pay to state troopers and other members of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

Barbour said at the time he was vetoing the legislation because it was an effort of the Legislature to micromanage an executive agency.

Hood and others have said Barbour violated the state Constitution with the partial veto.

The lawsuit was filed late Monday

What is Barbour thinking?

Without this overtime pay, how in the world are the troopers going to afford their steroids?
