WEST POINT — A former state game warden accused of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a fatal accident has pleaded guilty.

An Oktibbeha County grand jury indicted 26-year-old Ryan Crick of Louisville on one count of leaving the scene of an accident with death or injuries and three counts of aggravated DUI.

Court officials said Crick pleaded guilty Tuesday in Clay County Circuit Court. Oktibbeha and Clay counties are part of the same Circuit Court district.

In the Jan. 25, 2008, accident, Crick, while off-duty, was driving under the influence and lost control of his Jeep. When the vehicle flipped, 23-year-old Matthew Gaskin of Aberdeen and 27-year-old Jessica Burks of Starkville were killed.

Crick is scheduled for sentencing in August.
