Earlier this week, the attorney for the Stanford Financial Group's CEO asked Judge David Hittner to reconsider Stanford's incarceration while he awaits trial on charges that could send him to prison for 275 years.
This afternoon, Hittner said no.
SFG's assets were frozen weeks ago by a court-appointed receiver while the case works its way through the courts.
Stanford is being held in a Conroe, Texas, jail. His other co-defendants are free on bond until trial, except for an Antiguan official who hasn't been arrested yet.
No trial date has been set in Houston's Southern District Court.
