As it seeks to determine the amateurism eligibility of Renardo Sidney, the NCAA goes straight to the main source today.

Sidney, the 6-foot-10 Mississippi State signee, and his family will be interviewed by NCAA investigator Alex Hammond starting this afternoon at the Montgomery, Ala., offices of attorney Donald Jackson, who’s representing the Sidneys.

The interviews will continue Tuesday morning.

The NCAA is trying to determine if Sidney or his family received improper financial benefits while living in Los Angeles, where the family relocated to from Jackson 2006.

Jackson has repeatedly said that the Sidneys have done nothing to compromise Renardo's eligibility.

The NCAA has already interviewed at least one person – Wayne Brent, who was Sidney’s coach as a freshman at Piney Woods. Sidney was ineligible that year due to residency issues.
