So they loaded up some American flags, pulled out the trailers, cars, trucks and four-wheelers and put on a show. Dozens of people sat in their yards and on the side of the road, enjoying the small, but well-planned and put-together parade.

Ronnie Collins and his wife Mary Anne rolled out the blanket and cold cuts and Veterans Park for a picnic. Their sons Marcus, 8, and Jonathan, 11, road their bikes with red, white and blue flags attached to the rear tires.
Collins said they were going to head to Ballard Park later that night to watch the fireworks show, but wanted a little outdoor quiet time before going.
