Last week at Lawndale School, Tupelo students hopped on the Orient Express, became intrepid explorers, tried their hand at game design and produced their own musical during Camp Opportunity.

The week-long enrichment programs are offered each year to Tupelo Public School elementary students by the district's gifted education teachers.

By the end of June, nearly 300 students will have expanded their horizons through the annual summer opportunity camps. Other camps scheduled this month have covered pop art, scientific mysteries, world cultures and the Internet.
