Months ago, an MUW Naming Committee narrowed a list of more than 1,000 suggested names to three — Reneau University, Welty-Reneau University and Waverley University.
In March, a communication firm hired to research the names reported that 43 percent of study respondents favored Waverley University, 33 percent favored Reneau University and 24 percent favored Welty-Reneau University.
The university subsequently asked The Cirlot Agency to conduct additional research on the names.
