BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Toyota’s stalled Prius factory project in Tupelo, Miss., might not be a Prius factory when work on the plant finally resumes.
The company is entertaining new ideas about other products it could build there, said Steve St. Angelo, senior vice president of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America Inc.
“We’re very committed to that plant,” St. Angelo said here late yesterday. “But we’re looking at our whole portfolio and asking which products it makes sense to build or not build in North America.”

This from Toyota Mississippi spokeswoman Lacy Luckett:
"We are committed to building the plant and plan to build the Prious in Mississippi."
Having not been at the event where St. Angelo spoke, Luckett said that he, like other Toyota execs, are looking at all options, including building other vehicles. BUT, nothing is set in stone.
Also, in the AN article, St. Angelo said that the TMMMS employees had been "reassigned to Georgetown."
Luckett said that no one had been reassigned that she knew of.

And I think the Blue Springs folks take exception to the plant being called the "Tupelo" plant.
Also, ground was broken in 2007, not 2006.

Wonder of that means the 130 employees have been assigned to other roles BY Georgeown, or TO Georgetown? We're checking on all the gooey details.
