REPORT: More information on Lee County shooting expected today

One man is dead while another is in custody in connection with a Memorial Day shooting in southwest Lee County, according to a WTVA.com report.

The shooting took place around 7 p.m. at a residence on County Road 154 near Shannon.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson told WTVA.com the man was wounded in the chest during some sort of altercation west of Red Oak Grove Holiness Church. He added that a "person of interest" has been arrested in connection with this case.

Neither the victim's name nor the name of the "person of interest" has been released. More information is expected to be released today.
