n Entertainment for the Chickasaw County Relay for Life will include Porshia James, the Layman Quartet and the Master's Quartet. Relay for Life will be held this Friday, May 15, in Joe Brigance Park in Houston beginning at 6 p.m. All are invited to attend.

n On June 30, 2009, two Dixie Regional Library System Branch Managers will finish their many years of service.

Gene Philpot has served as the as Librarian for over 28 years at the Houston Carnegie Library while Jo Anne Blue has been the Librarian for 33 years at the Edmondson Memorial Library in Vardaman.

"Although we will miss them, we wish them well as they adapt to their new 'free' lifestyle," said Dixie Regional Library director Judy McNeece.

The library system invites everyone to attend the reception in their honor at the Houston Carnegie Library on Tuesday, May 19 from 2 - 4 p.m.

Work Keys offered June 2

n The Work Keys assessment, as required by the MS Dept. of Education to become an assistant teacher in MS, will be given at the Houston School District Central Office on June 2, 2009 at 8:30 AM. The assessment will conclude around noon.

The test will be given to the first 10 people who sign up by contacting Leigh Mobley at 662-456-3332 or lmobley@houston.k12.ms.us.

Walk-ins will not be tested, pre-registration is required. There is no fee for this test.
