The Chargers, who finished the season undefeated, scored 78 points to Pearl's 67.5 total in the MHSAA state track and field meet at Pearl High School.
The Class 4A and 3A meets were on Friday with the 5A, 2A and 1A meets today.
"It was nerve-racking, but it's like this every year for us and Pearl," Oxford coach Scott Kendricks said. "We got our track in 2002 and we've won five and they've won three."
Dan Hicks, a Florida State football signee as a defensive end, won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.19 seconds for the Chargers. The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder also placed second in the 300 hurdles in 40.24.
The other team winners Friday were Raymond's boys and Pass Christian's girls in Class 3A, and McComb's girls in 4A.
