The 58th annual National Day of Prayer will take place Thursday, May 7, in Amory's Frisco Park and in Aberdeen at city hall beginning at noon.

The theme for this year is amp"Prayer... America's Hopeamp" and is based on the verse from Psalm 33:22 which states: amp"May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.amp"

Amory's observance will feature Bill Monaghan who will sing and Bro. Warren Coile, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will give the devotional. Other prayers will be offered by Bro. Ed Clay, pastor of Church of God of Prophecy, and Dr. Allen Simpson, pastor of First Baptist Church, and others yet to be announced.

Those who attend are urged to bring a lawn chair and to support this annual observance when people pray for national, state and local leaders.

Aberdeen's event is sponsored by North Mt. Olivet Baptist Association Minister's Council, the Mayor's Spiritual Council and Aberdeen Minister's Council.
