Wednesday, the University of Mississippi will present a day-long focus on the needs of both the elders and the people caring for them.
The eighth annual C.A.R.E. (Caring for Aging Relatives Effectively) Fair and Workshop will be held Wednesday in the Ole Miss Student Union. This conference includes workshop sessions on the politics of aging, Medicare and Social Security, elder abuse/neglect and a virtual tour of dementia.
It also includes a resource exchange fair with more than 25 exhibiting organizations.
Workshops are open for free to Ole Miss employees and residents caring for elderly relatives. Admission ranges from $20 to $50 for the general public and professionals in fields related to elder care.
Laura Feldman of the Washington, D.C.-based National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare will keynote the event at 9 a.m. with a presentation on “The Politics of Aging.”
The Hospital Foundation will host a national teleconference, “Living with Grief: Diversity and End of Life Issues,” beginning at 12:30 p.m.
