AUBURN, Ala. – The top-seeded Ole Miss men’s tennis team was presented its regular season SEC trophy prior to Saturday’s match against fourth-seeded Florida, then went out and underscored how they won it.

A 4-0 victory against the Gators lifted the Rebels into the SEC Championship final for the fourth year in a row and fifth time in six years. The Rebels (23-2) will defend their title against Tennessee today at 1 p.m.

Tennessee, the No. 3 seed, handed second-seeded Georgia a 4-1 loss in the other semifinal.

“We are excited to be back in the SEC Championship final,” Ole Miss coach Billy Chadwick said. “The guys did a great job today in doubles and singles. Everybody played well from top to bottom in the lineup. We are looking forward to defending our title on Sunday.”

SEC women: In Fayetteville, Ark., the seventh-seeded Ole Miss women fell 4-1 to Tennessee. The Rebels (14-9) will await the announcement of NCAA tennis tourney selections on Tuesday.
