Like it did last Saturday, Mississippi State will practice in scrimmage-like conditions today. After sessions Thursday and Friday, Mullen hopes to see some progress.
Today's "going to be a big, big scrimmage for us. We need to have a big day, so we don't need to blow them out today," the first-year coach said. "I just want to see guys play hard and see if we can find some guys that can make some plays on both sides of the ball."
Friday's practice, which lasted just over three hours, was conducted with thin receiving and running back corps. Injuries and a general lack of depth have forced Mullen to just find some warm bodies.
"There were some new walk-ons and stuff, we just threw them out here today," he said.
