n Itawamba Community College was well represented in this year's MACJC All-Star Basketball Classics Friday at Choctaw Central High School.

A trio of Indians, Gary Dixon of Pontotoc, Theron Jenkins of Flowood and Jason Marks of Little Rock, Ark., were chosen to play in the men's matchup while a pair of Lady Indians, Sanqueeta Meardith of Shannon and Jackson's Jessica Collins, played in the women's contest.

Dixon was a second team All-State selection after leading the Indians in scoring (15 ppg) and 3-point shooting (63-142, 44 percent) while Jenkins, a Texas Tech signee, was a first-team All-Region 23, as well as making the All-State first team after scoring 13.5 points per game (15.7 inside the division) and five rebounds per game. Marks, who also signed early with a D-1 program (Southeastern Louisiana), was a second-team All-State pick after scoring 10.5 points per game and hauling down a team-best 7.6 rebounds per game.

Meardith was a first team All-State and All-Region 23 selection after leading ICC in scoring with a 14.1 average overall this past season and 18.1 inside conference play. The two-time All-Region 23 pick also had four rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals a night.

Collins made the second team All-State listing after the Delta State signee averaged 8.5 points, 5 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2 steals a contest for the 21-7 Lady Indians, who for the first time ever, enjoyed back-to-back 20 plus win seasons.

n ICC was well represented on the MACJC and Region 23 men's and women's post-season basketball award listings.

Both the Indians and Lady Indians had a player make the All-Region 23 first-team squad. In fact, Jenkins was the third leading vote-getter in the entire region behind Gulf Coast's Justin Ray and EMCC's Coco Ware. Jenkins averaged 13.5 ppg, 5 rpg, 2 apg and 1.5 steals a game as the Texas Tech signee also made the first team MACJC All-State squad.

Meardith was also among the top vote getters in earning the All-Region 23 honor for the second straight year. Collins made the second team All-State listing. In addition, freshman Ashleigh Jackson was named to the All-Region 23 Tournament team after her 20 point performance.

Marks made the men's All-Region 23 Tournament team and joined Dixon on the second team MACJC All-State team.

Indian freshman Vincenzo Nelson of Clinton was named honorable mention All-State after averaging 10 points and five rebounds per game.
