ABERDEEN - It is time again for Aberdeen Main Street's annual spring cleanup downtown on Saturday, April 4.

There are several people who are always there and some come as early as 7 a.m., but you are needed, too. Aberdeen wants to put a best foot forward for the Easter holidays and following closely, the pilgrimage guests on April 23-26.

On Saturday, May 2, Main Street will sponsor the citywide yard sale in downtown Aberdeen. Limited spaces downtown will be $10 each. To get your yard sale at your home on the map will be $5. Contact the Main Street office or the city clerk's office to rent a space downtown or to get on the map.

Have you been downtown lately to see all of the spring and summer merchandise? You may be pleasantly surprised if you have not visited our local businesses. There seems to be a lot of out-of-town people and new retirees downtown every day. The retirees repeat over and over how they love being in our small-town atmosphere.

Main Street is working with the Aberdeen Visitors Bureau on new flags and other decorations for downtown. Several of the retirees are very busy working with Main Street, the Visitors Bureau and Chamber of Commerce and becoming involved in making their retirement choice an even better one.
