Picking up a suspended game from Friday night, Mississippi State fared no better Saturday, as Arkansas finished off a 20-9 pasting of the Bulldogs to open a three-game SEC series.

Trailing 10-3 in the fifth inning when play was halted due to inclement weather Friday night, the Bulldogs quickly let things spiral out of control again on Saturday.

Playing through consistent snow flurries, the Bulldogs surrendered six quick runs when play resumed, allowing Arkansas to build a 16-3 lead.

The Bulldogs did rally for six runs in the ninth on the strength of a 3-run blast from Conner Powers to cut the Hogs' advantage to 20-9.

Andy Wilkins and Scott Lyons each had three hits and four RBI to lead the Razorbacks.

Starter Devin Jones (0-2) took the loss for the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State (14-11, 2-5 SEC) and Arkansas (18-4, 7-0) will play a pair of seven-inning games starting today at 12:05 with the forecast calling for much more pleasant conditions.

The Eagles set a single-game school record for runs scored in a 26-10 win to open the doubleheader before closing things out with a 19-1 thrashing of the Golden Knights in the nightcap.

In the opener, Dozier collected four hits and drove in six runs before adding two more hits and three more RBI in game two.

With the two blowout wins, Southern Miss (15-9, 3-2 CUSA) completed the three-game sweep of Central Florida (7-19, 0-5), outscoring the Knights 51-14 for the weekend.

The Golden Eagles will stop in Troy for a Tuesday-Wednesday series, then entertains C-USA rival Marshall next weekend.
