Reception to honor

art contest winners

n The Northeast Mississippi Art Association show will culminate with a Monday reception at the Lee County Library.

Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded at the 10 a.m. event for first, second and third place in the six categories.

Refreshments will be served.

Hope Church hosts

concert April 2

n Music and faith will shine Thursday at Hope Church in Tupelo.

The Rubyz, Mission Six, Paige Armstrong and Jasmine are bringing the iShine Live! tour with contemporary Christian music for tweens to the church. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

General admission is $15, families are $45 for up to six people. Groups of 10 are $12 each.

Time to polish songs

for GumTree fest

n Applications are now available for the Cellular South GumTree Festival Songwriters Showcase.

Songwriters are encouraged to submit original songs that have not been published or recorded. The entry deadline is April 17.

Selected finalists will perform on the Broadway Street stage May 9, and three winners will be selected to perform May 10 during the annual festival.
