TUPELO - Looking to grow its business - and to offer a few jobs in a region with 11 percent unemployment - Liberty National Life Insurance Co. hopes to hire 50 people for its office here.
Applicants can go attend one of four interview sessions at the Hilton Garden Inn today, at 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
"We're looking to help boost the economy with these hirings," said Sami Nizam, field vice president of recruiting for Liberty.
No experience necessary - Liberty will train you.
The company is looking to hire 50 sales agents and sales managers for its Tupelo office, with possibilities of adding more if the business grows.
Liberty Financial, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Torchmark Corp., is headquartered in Birmingham.
The Tupelo office is at 2609 Traceland Drive, Suite A, near Big Lots, and across from the Tax Commission office.
Pay, benefits
Branch manager Richard Byrd, who has been with the company for 11 years, said Liberty offers good pay and benefits - but you have to work for it.
"It's not for everybody, but it does offer great opportunity," he said of the commission-paying jobs. "The average income for a Liberty National representative who stayed with the company for 12 months in 2008 was more than $61,000."
Medical insurance, retirement plans, disability, dental and group life coverage also is available after reaching certain performance levels.
