The IAHS Indians hosted the New Albany Bulldogs for a division showdown. The Indians defeated Shannon 3-1 earlier in the week and moved to 2-0 in division with a 5-4 victory over New Abany.

Luke Hargett was on the hill for the first time since a knee injury. Hargett got out a jam in the first inning, and the Indian offense came out swinging in the bottom of the first.

Colin Chatham led off with a single to center, followed by Devin Moore getting hit by a pitch.

Dillion Mitchell moved Chatham over to third on a sacrifice fly to right. Jared McGonagill drew a walk to load the bases, and the Indians scored their first run when Hargett hit into a fielder's choice.

Trevor Wallace then stepped up and hit a double to right that plated two runs.

The Indians led 3-0 after one, and Hargett sat down the Bulldogs in order in the second with two strike outs and a ground out to short.

In the top of the third, Hargett struck out the first batter but walked the next two. Then the Bulldogs drove a run in on a double to left.

After a line out to short, Hargett struck out the next batter with runners at second and third.

Hargett came off the mound screaming with excitement in the top of the third but fell to the ground in pain in the bottom of the third after flying out to right.

Hargett's knee dislocated again causeing him to be taken out of the game.

Maikhail Miller took the hill in the top of the fourth, and the Bulldogs quickly tied the game.

Miller and catcher Bronson Smith couldn't seem to get on the same page, and the Bulldogs plated two runs on passed balls.

The Indians regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth on a Chatham double in the right field gap.

Miller and Smith got on the same page for the next few innings, and the Indians held a 4-3 lead going into the seventh inning.

However, in the seventh, the Bulldogs tied the game on a high pitch that hit Smith's glove and then hit the back stop.

Miller then composed himself and struck out a batter to end the inning.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Indians loaded the bases with one out. McGonagill hit the first pitch he saw over the center fielder to score Chatham from third.

The Indians walked away with a 5-4 victory but lost Hargett until April.

The Indians lost on the road Saturday at Tishomingo County and are 2-1 in division.

IAHS will host Saltillo Saturday before facing in-county rival Mantachie next Monday in the Saltillo Tourney.
