2Q personal income rises in Mississippi

JACKSON — Personal income in Mississippi rose during the second quarter of 2009.

That's according to the federal Bureau of Economic Analysis, which recorded a 0.6 percent increase in the state from the first quarter. Personal income is the total of all income from all sources, including pay, dividends, interest and government payments.

Across the United States, personal income grew 0.2 percent in the second quarter, the first such jump in a year.
