A tip that two north Mississippi men were bringing in methamphetamine from Alabama led to their arrests over the Labor Day weekend, a Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics official announced today.

MBN Director Marshall Fisher said the arrest of Pontotoc residents Scottie L. Gillespie, 30, of Lake Shore Lane and Charles T. Davis, 54, of Holly Hill Drive stemmed from a traffic stop the Mississippi Highway Patrol made involving the suspects’ vehicle on Hwy. 78 in Fulton last Friday.

Both men are charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of Endocet and possession of diazepam.

A search of the suspects turned up four ounces of a highly potent form of methamphetamine known as “ice” and a half-dozen dosage units of prescription drugs.

The controlled substances have a combined estimated street value of $7,300, according to Director Fisher, who said officers also seized drug paraphernalia and approximately $1,300 in cash.

The suspects, who are both on probation under the supervision of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, were being held in the Itawamba County Jail with bonds pending.

the bad thing about this is that now the cops are selling what they took from these guys. 1300 cash seized, i wonder how much it really was.
