DECATUR - Clint Wilson made a strong debut as Northeast Mississippi's quarterback, passing for 283 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-6 season-opening victory at East Central.

Wilson connected with Troy transfer Josh Jarboe for a pair of 12-yard TD strikes, then connected with Jonathan Johnson (10) and Donte Barksdale (43) in the second quarter as the Tigers roared to a 28-6 halftime advantage. Wilson completed 19 of 36 passes and threw one interception.

Jarboe had six catches for 97 yards.

Northeast visits Southwest Mississippi next Thursday night.
