Happy end of August!

What are you rocking out to?

My emusic credits rolled over recently, and I blew them all on chick music – mostly riot grrrrl music.

I've been listening to a ton of Sleater-Kinney lately, so I decided to get some old school riot grrrrl records. I downloaded "Pottymouth" by Bratmobile and "Calculated" by Heavens to Betsy. Talk about essential music. I love both of these albums.

For something new, I downloaded "Release Me" by The Like. This band is a throwback to the 60s girl groups – except the band members play their own instruments, and their lyrics are much more biting (you have to love a song called "Wishing He was Dead"). This is such a fun record. I love it!
