We've been hearing people talk about the status of the Elvis mural in downtown Tupelo and, sure enough, it's in rough shape.
The mural is mounted onto the side of the building at the corner of Front and Jefferson streets. The paint is flaking off and the boards are curling off the mounting. Not a good sign, considering the mural was painted just two years ago.
We spoke with Debbie Brangenberg at the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association. She said the group is aware of the mural, but it's owned by the building owner. She said Main Street will be reaching out to the owner to see what can be done.
