We're hearing that there's been a bomb threat at American Furniture in Ecru. Employees have been cleared out of the building.

Ken Pruett with the Mississippi Furniture Association said they've sent all the employees home.

No one is answering phone at the plant. We also left a message for the sheriff in Pontotoc.

More details as we get them.

ECRU – Authorities didn’t find a bomb after a threat was phone in to the American Furniture Manufacturing plant on Thursday.

Pontotoc County Sheriff Neal Davis said deputies spent much of the day at the Ecru furniture plant looking for a bomb after the threat was left on the company’s voice mail.

Davis said the building was searched by his K-9 unit but no explosive devices was found.

American officials could not be reached for comment.

Ken Pruett, president of the Pontotoc-based Mississippi Furniture Association, said American employees were sent home. The company employs about 1,000 workers.

The incident is still under investigation.

Our colleagues at the Pontotoc Progress confirm they are hearing there's been a bomb threat at the factory.

Said the sheriff's department could neither confirm nor deny the report.

We're checking to see if the Tupelo-based bomb squad is being sent to Ecru. No one is answering right now.
