Preparing for Tupelo beach party

Tupelo Park and Rec employee Philip Crowe begins spreading the second of eight loads of sand in front of the Ballard Stage at Ballard Park on Wednesday. The sand is being used to form a beach to go along with the this year’s theme, “All-America Beach Party in the Park”.

The All America Beach Party in the Park will begin at noon Saturday in Ballard Park. Food vendors, rock climbing wall, music, fireworks and more. Entertainment begins at 4:30 p.m. with Stone Lizard and will also include All America City Talent Contest Winners, John Milstead, Margarita Beach and Tupelo Symphony Orchestra and Community Chorus.
